Help! Car wont start after replacing neutral safety switch.

Hi. This is my first post.

I just replaced the neutral safety switch in my 78 300d.(using instructions i found on here. thanks!) The starter still wont turn.

It started raining about half way through the job though. After replacing it i noticed that the plug that connects to the nss seemed to not be connecting to all the terminals. there are four. i tried to move the plug up so they would all connect but it wouldnt go in at that level. i was trying to find out why when the lightning came and i decided to hold off for a while.

now it could be that i am completely mistaken about it not being connected, because in the position that looks wrong to me it connects no problem.
Im sorry if that isnt very clear, i hope you can decipher what i mean.

So my question is...if the nss isnt the issue, what is? and has anyone had similar issues with connecting the plug to the nss?
Thanks in advance for your time.

You have to make sure the little nub on the NSS aligns with the hole on the shifter lever.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant
