Considering Buying 1972 SL??

I am considering buying this 1972 350SL. I am really interested in any of your thoughts (there is no Hard Top):

Go over to the r107 forum, there are plenty of NY and canadian members. Something isn't right about that car. If it is a 72 there shouldn't be the big bumpers. I don't know if the car is a euro, you need a picture of the drivers door seem to see the import plate.

For that price I'd hold out for a 560sl.

Ich brauch Geld fur Gasolin, explosiv wie Kerosin, mit viel Octan und frei von Blei- Gib mir Benzin!

The 72 350SL came out with the 4.5 v-8 not a 6 cylinder. It also had the small bumpers. So who knows what has been changed on the car. The mileage is probity not right. You really should get on the roadster form and have those guys run a vin # check for you. I have a 72 350 SL with a hard top and a 75 450 parts car I would sell you for $6500 for both.

There is absolute nothing original on that car, from the bumpers to the wood interior, the 3rd brake light, the wrong steering wheel, the the wrong placed Antenna, the spoiler and so on,that is a car I would run away from.
Somebody probably made one car out of two.
