Nice looking car. Why the satin though? You don't see that very often ...

Hey Grube thanks, well someday it may all be shiny but until I'm ready to spend some time on body work and a little rust repair the satin works for me. I had it blue basecoat before and before that it was cream/biege primer and before that it was original blue/gray. It took me 1 1/2 days to sand, prep and paint last weekend and that's really the look I want for now. By the way I was at the dealer getting some parts for my SD a couple days ago and saw a new E class with a matte platinum finish with no shine at all and they charge $4,000. extra for that job, that's crazy. Later.

I'm going to have to do a tune up and adjust valves pretty soon, drove it around some and valves got a little noisy, almost like a diesel. Later.

72Benz, I think it would be closer to a restomod but using that term very loose. We all know that the ultimate restomod will probably be Leno's AMG powered 300SEL 6.3. Later.

The wheels on top, are they W201 wheels? What size wheel/tire combo are you running and any fitment issues? Look really cool to me.

Yeah CRJ9 they are w201 wheels, 15", 195x65 tires. The only issue was a slight rub on the rear inside wheel wells but the sledge hammer took care of that. I liked the look myself but after about 8yrs. I wanted to change it up. I just recently had my son sell them on e-bay for me for cheap. I've got some SL 17" 5 spoke wheels that will go on there next, I got them sitting in my garage next to a stack of tires to be mounted. Later.

Thanks... I odered a set. Plus I get to keep my 13"s. My buddy will re-chrome the hub caps and the beauty rings. I might powder-coat them Ivory and use just the hub caps, no rings. I hope this new set up will lower the motor's rpm too. Do you stil have the Bundt's?
