72 6 cylinder FI

Hello all. A newbie here. Hopefully I have followed the requeset steps. I researched this forum re: FI on my 72 6 cyl. I have also purchased a CD service manual from a link on this site today. That said the car is now living at 6000 feet and running rich. The FI pump was replaced when the engine was gone through. Shes running rough and my guess is quite rich. Is there a tried and true method of balancing the air fuel mixture short of installing an O2 sensor?
I'm sure I'll have to pull and clean or even replace the plugs as well.
Any thoughts on additives to clean out the carbon build up?
Great site. Ive learned a lot already.
Regards
