Do you attend car shows with your MB?

Just curious, with car show season coming up, how many of you take your cars to shows to display them? Please feel free to post the type of car you show and pics if you have any from shows. Any show winners out there?

I like to browse around events and look at car's but I just don't have the time to do it . I wouldn't mind bringing one of my own there and letting other's enjoy looking at it , if I had the time. Maybe in the future....

I'll show my cars but not at just any show. I stay away from showing at hot rod and muscle car shows. I'll show at any shows that have a place for European cars. However, I was once asked to not bring mine because they had too many 108's entered. My Alfa did well at that show. I'll be attending this show in October.

I'm surprised at the lack of responses. Is no one on this board proud enough of their car to show the car?

I have shown my car at a couple events; the MBCA Fashion Island show and a local general vintage show. I enjoy the hot rod and muscle car shows, the folks there appreciate old cars and it is a refreshing break from the Mustangs and Chevelles. When you show at an all make event the few Mercedes stand out a bit more.

I didn't vote because the options don't reflect my thoughts or experience in showing. By the way the car in question was my 560 SEC not my former 280SE coupe.

I've been showing mine for several years at local independent as well as MB shows. The 190E is highly modified, so the MB purists don't like it as much. And, the Hot Rod shows always look at foreign cars with that look. I have won a few with it though!

But, the 240D is a real sweetheart for shows. I completely restored the car in every way, to the point where it looks excellent. In fact, I have won a concours event at the Chicago MBCA in 2008. For an almost daily driver (with 170K miles!), it doesn't take much to get it 'show ready' - maybe a day or so. Have several trophies to show for it as well.

The effort of showing cars entails detailing to the "Nth" degree. I have certainly learned lots about detailing products and methods.

Here are some pics of it from a previous post:

Almost didn't see your post, as I usually frequent the model specific and detailng forums here.

Mine is a daily driver. A ride to the grocery store is a car show for others I plan to go to the Cars & Coffee in Irvine eventually (waking up 6am is pretty hard on weekends).

Yes, I take my cars to shows, mostly when I know it will be not just hot rods but all makes and models.

I plan to start bringing my R129 to car shows. While it is a daily driver with 32,350 miles on it, I feel that it is equally as good as any garage queen R129.
