1965 190c Heckflosse Barn Find

Hi there, I am new here and have just bought a 1965 Heckflosse and thought I would share it with you guys. It has a story with it (as i'm sure they all do) but this is a real "barn find" in a certain respect. I got this car from Portugal (on portuguese plates and right hand drive) The last owner bought it 23 years ago with the story of it being a car that had escaped the war in mozambique (I have the mozambique orig reg doc) hence being right hand drive. He then stored it in his fathers garage where it has been ever since!!! His father sold up and the car had to be moved outdoors in december last year and probably wont have lasted to long with portuguese heat etc. My intentions are to try and MOT,register and then do a full restoration on it. I have noticed that the hub caps are different to most of the pics I have seen and wondered if anyone could shed some light on there origination or indeed if they are correct spec and just an upgrade or a different hub cap for a different countries spec etc ??? All advice on parts and specialist on this type of car would be most welcomed as I am sure I will need some help with certain things on this car. Any ways enough waffling let me know what you think.

P.S Does anyone know where the chassis number is on these cars?!?

All the best and happy mercing

Good luck with your find! I have never seen wheels like that though!
Chassis number should be stamped into the top of the RH chassis rail, down toward the headlight. Perhaps a handspan or two back from the headlight.
Cheers, Drew

EDIT - see the picture below. When I say right hand side, this is relative to a person sitting in a seat. You can see that the number is quite a way back from the headlight - just on the front side of the front subframe mount.
