67 w110 Fintail front suspension

Does anybody have a parts list or better yet a diagram of the front suspension for a 67 230 w110? I know my front shocks need to be replaced and I want to replace anything else that is worn out. It appears the rear end suspension has had most things replaced, but the PO must have not gotten to finish or for that matter started on the front end.

I will try to post pictures of the car, I finally have it home and have
a bunch of things to do to make it road worthy.

thank you

This will get expensive with the approach you are taking,
First thing how many miles are on car?
do all grease fittings take grease?
any squeaking sounds?
Jack up under spring/shock and wiggle wheel to check free play.
Tie rods are the weak link in the front end, check and replace. (cheap fix)
replace subframe and motor mounts first,
check steering box play (and adjust (free fix))
Check cross steering shock too (another weak link)

The car shows 44,000, (144,000) I un-earthed the grease fittings
last night. They had a couple of inches of dirt and grime covering the
fittings. It didn't look like anybody had ever tried to put grease in them. My neighbor is goingto help me replace the front rotors, pads and brake lines, he has a portable mid-rise 6000lb car lift, (very cool) and I will try to get some
grease in the fittings and start looking at your list and update on the condition
of each.

Thank you

For a parts diagram and part numbers, subscribe to the official Mercedes-Benz Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC):

EPC-net Online - Subscription Step 1 of 3

It's free if you live in the USA and is exactly the same as what the dealers use (except it does not show prices).

If those fittings have not been greased in a long time, you may have some problems. The pivots are actually threaded studs and nuts which, if not greased, can freeze up and wear out the A-arms. You may have to at the least disassembly the suspension to clean out the gunk so they can be greased. This also affects the front end alignment, so best to remove and install only one part at a time. At least there is not a whole lot of rubber parts to rot out on these old fintails.

Good luck.
