Door sills

I need to replace my door sills guards in my w110 230. Any ideas? Mine are
cracked and falling off. I found something on ebay which look like an option
Automotive Door Sill Guards-- *XPEL* Black : eBay Motors (item 150369298772 end time Apr-26-10 14:30:53 PDT)

But just wondering if anybody has another option. My interior is black and
the upper part of the sill guard which is still in good shape is gray.

Thanks

I just got some stainless steel sill plates from Adsit. They don't show on the website. Just call & ask.

http://www.adsitco.com/category.asp?CID=1516

If it's not broke it dosen't have enough features.

to follow up with Adsitco I called them and ask about the door plates.
The sales experience was unique to say the least. I asked him if
the w116 item number would fit my fintail, he basically told me that if they didn't have my car listed he would not sell them to me! When I pressed a bit, I asked could he measure, could they be cut,etc he told me they don't have a return policy and that again he would not sell them to me. This was a very strange experience, has anybody else had similar conversions?

Bla8310,

The experience that I had was helpful. I told them that I had a 108 and that I had seen thresholds for a 109 in the catalog. They advised that the fronts are the same but the rears would have to be shortened. That was it and the sale was made.

If you are still interested you may want to ask if the 109 thresholds can be made to work in your 110. It could be that the 110 door openings are just enough different that the available thresholds cannot be mede to fit.

Another thought would be to make some templates and have a sheet metal shop make some out of stainless.

If it's not broke it dosen't have enough features.

That's the kind of questions I wanted to ask, however the salesperson was borderline rude and did even want to discuss the matter. The conversation I had with him last all of 1 minute. My thoughts are companies selling vintage cars parts to vintage car people would at least listen. Maybe this salesperson was having a bad day, but telling me in a very "un" interested way that if they don't list my car, then they can not help me. I would understand if
I was asking about a fuel pump or something like that, but these are flat pieces
of steel. I thought is was very strange.

Any chance of seeing a picture of your sill trims cadurning? I am restoring my W111 and would be interested in how they look compared to the standard plastic.
Blaa8310, I have W111's myself but i also have a complete W108 sill in the shed (never know when you may need one hey?!) so I can check if they are similar if you like.
Cheers, Drew in Oz

thank you,

Please let me know if the 108's sill will fit your fintail? Now that I have been told they won't fit, I am determined to make them work.

thanks
