1978 450 sel 4.5
I have a question regarding my 450 sel and it tendency to produce white smoke upon my cold start.. I recently purchased the vehicle from a guy who bought it at an auction.
He brought it home and like all of us enthusiast think, "i'm gonna restore this girl"...Well another familiar commonality occured, he never did and the beauty sat for 7 months to a year without moving or really even being started...
I think it may be bad gas just burning itself out of the system but i'm not sure. Also when I am on the road she seems to hold back and I have to push the gas pedal to keep her from really decelerating and slowing up..I haven't driven the girl much because she had no plates from the auction and was actually a "salvage" titled vehicle...
Everything works on her. a-c blows ice, heater , sunroof, power windows (except rear pass), etc..She cranks up on first attempt and doesn't seem to miss a beat..I really think I got a steal based on what I paid...My interior is perfect, no wear or rips or any damage to trim , perfect headliner, truly unbelievable..(pics are coming this week)....
My question to my friends here on Benzworld is, what's up with the white smoke whem I start her up after sitting? I am not sure but she doesn't smoke after i'm driving and she has been running for 5 minutes or so...any comments are appreciated and welcome...Happy cruising yall!!
Thanks in advance for the knowledge...Reps
