My mercedes was in Galveston Tx when hurricane Ike came through a year and a half ago, and it is still in the shop.
Here is a list of what is not working:
Windshield wipers: I just bought wiper motors and they will be here tomorrow. I already replaced the wiper switch in the steering column, so I am thinking the motors themselves are not working due to being underwater.
Air conditioning: I am guessing the blower motor for the air conditioner no longer works because of the car being underwater to the roof. I would like to know where the blower motor is located in the car, how to get to it, and what I need to check electrically to make sure it doesn't work before i buy a new one.
Interior dash lights: I have a wiring diagram and hope to be able to figure this out myself.
I did not start the engine after it flooded, and now it starts like a charm after replacing the alternator amongst many, many other things. I just had the transmission worked on, and they must have installed it improperly because the car shifts into park from the shift knob and disengages the engine, but the car still rolls if the break isn't applied. Wondering what is causing this as well? Mechanic said he would look at it this evening and see how to fix transmission park problem, and install the wiper motors tomorrow.
Any help in fixing these issues would be greatly appreciated! I am new to this forum but am willing to share any resources I have at my disposal to help others out that have the same car. I have the wiring diagram in pdf format if anyone else needs it.
