The car will only start with a shot of starting fluid... Please help...

My wife want to start driving my "old friend". It has not been driven in a couple of years.

The reason it got parked is we had a baby... "old friend" has no back seat, so it has been "on vacation".

Before it got parked, the car would only start with a shot of starting fluid, even if the engine has only been turned off about 10 min... no ether-no start...

I hate to put my girl thru ether "administration routine" everywhere she parks... so I found this forum and would like to ask for some advice...

I think it could just a fuel filter? Is there only one? Is it located by the fuel pump in the rear?

Could it be the fuel pump itself? Has anyone ever had this situation?

The car runs ok once started, until its shut off... then I got to reach for the can...

Please help, if you can... I'd love some advice... Thanks in advance.

Thermo-time switch, accumulator or cold start injector may be defective.

It would help if you would give us some details about the car such as year, model, engine.

If it's not broke it dosen't have enough features.

It sounds like a fuel pump. Mine did the same thing.
