Pertronix makes a lot of nice ignition systems. They are actually a lot cheaper then some of the more popular companies out there list MSD and Crane.

I removed my ignition box and installed a HotSpark unit (Pertronix like device).

Now I don't have power at the coil, when I jumper another source to coil the engine runs.

Is there something specific that I need to do with the wires at the ignition box?

Going off memory I traced back the original ignition wire to the control unit and used that but im at my unit tomorrow and will recheck my wiring for you
