I bought a rebuilt M130 short block for my 280S after it started smoking and I got bad numbers on a leak down/compression test. My mechanic tried first do a rebuild on my old block but discovered that the #3 cycl was scored and #6 had a significant ridge.I ended up getting my short block from Metric motors and dealt with a Mike over there who took good care of me .The only problem I had after installing the motor was getting those dual Zenith carbs to work right. It took me 6 months and three mechanics to find someone who knew how to get them working(they were warped). Now the car is running so good it's scary. I would recommend not going forward with your restoration until you feel confident in your drive train.I knew that this car was going to cost me to get it like I wanted but that's what money is for... I would drive this car across country now and I am very picky when it comes to reliability.Thats why I keep a lexus in my drive way. So have at it and bring a classic back to its original beauty.

Happy fishing

Great source right there. They do all their machining in-house.
