ok, on another thread i described a noise to everyone to get an idea what it could have been.

problem solved. not the race/bearings. good guess though.

new problem.... what the hell is it? lol.

it looks like a flange yoke but cant quite be sure. i took some pics. crappy as they are its all i could do, i hade to jack the car up and get inside the fender well just to get a view.

you cant tell by the crappy picture but the yoke or whatever it is seems to somehow have cracked, with the bolts still in it (weird i know ) and the bolt has cracked right down the middle with a piece pf the yoke on the end. the one bolt that hasnt broke is the only one turning and the other 2 or 3 are grinding against the bolt/yoke pieces thus creating a HELL of a racket.

heres a link to a random diagram i found to get the name of what i thought it was. lol http://www.4xshaft.com/images/nomenclature_shafts.jpg

and heres what it looks like

let me know what you think.

PS. where the hell does everyone get good parts from. the local autozone/oriellys doesnt carry half of what they should and the pullapart/salvage yards are rare.

pps. if not possible to get a replacement part, could i trust a rebuild with j.b.weld or equivalent adhesive?
