Replacing starter in ‘73 280 W114

I just got a ‘73 280. In order to bring the car home I need to replace the starter. With the car jacked up, I can only see the lower of the two bolt holes. The lower bolt has been removed and I don’t know what to replace it with. I read that the bolt I can’t see requires a 10mm allen key but later read that it was 11mm. After a lot of searching I am still unclear exactly what tools I will need to take along and how to go about removing it. If anyone is familiar with this job and could give me directions, a tools list, and the type of replacement bolt I would greatly appreciate it.

You know you can tow start your car, right? Put it in neutral, get up to about 10mph (you'll need the Denver Broncos to push you, or someone else to tow you), and jam it into first gear. This is actually covered in the owner's manual...

Jessie is going to Replace the Starter, Today, with Your Help :)

Thanks Grubeguy,
This would be great except the location where the car is stored makes that impossible. So, changing the starter is necessary. Also, I have a confession... I'm not K.David. K.David is my Dad. I joined this forum for him because I know he will really like it here. I'm Jessie, his daughter. I bought him this car for Christmas. I really wanted to have it out front Christmas morning except I couldn't put the new starter in it. I was out in the freezing cold, alone, on the 24th until 11:45pm when I finally decided I couldn't figure it out on my own. I have replaced a couple starters in the past, but that top bolt that I can't see has me stuck. That's why I am asking for the forums help. I really need clear directions, a tools list - with the allen size (10mm or 11mm), and the type of replacement bolt I should get for the lower, visible bolt. I really hope someone can help me. I have to get the car out of there today so I am going over there in about an hour, hopefully with some instructions. I'm sorry I didn't say all of this earlier; I just didn't want to complicate things. Guess I did any way.
Thanks to all that read this and especially anyone that can offer help!

Do yourself and the car a favor. Select, prep and clear the area you will be keeping the car for repair/storage. Spring for the $100 it will cost to have the car professionally towed and place it in the spot.

This eliminates the frustration of HAVING to replace the starter in a less than ideal spot and all the other difficulties which will pop up. You will be less likely to attempt to short-cut problems ("frayed ground strap?, I'll have to deal with it later, that bolt looks a little shady but this car has got to GO NOW!, I SHOULD replace this battery cable but I don't like the way that 300 lb. pit bull drools as he's chewing his way though that wooden fence")
