Triggerwheel for MS3x

A little more, here the triggerwheel for the MS3 conversion. During the engine retauratione we see that the starter-engine comes out to much in the 3.5 manual set-up, this explains becaus there were several starter-ring problems on 3.5 manual engines. So we decided to go for this set-up with a 2.5mm triggerwheel on the rear side like in ALFa 3.2 engines. The frictionhas not to be modified, but for any case we made the left support of the friction arm registrable from outside. The D-jet "teeth" are perfekt pooled triggers for the MS-cam use (5v or nothing), so we use them insted of another trigger in the distributor. After thinking much about the coils and the success of GGR I will use 8 little motor-bike coils in the distributor-cap for sequential sparking.

As the gasoil becomes even more costy in europe, I will use alternativley be-fuel with Lpg (autogas). For law reason I can't use the MS3x to do the job directly but I have to use a second CPU from a Dealer like Icom, BRC, Landi, Lovato, e@gas.... But I will use the second mapping option vor a specific ignition set-up for LPG. The hardware is easy to made on the M116/7 as shown, if you bore out the fixing points of the Injectors you can use the M6 fitting for the LPG-nozzle-injectors.The gas will flow directly in front of the inlet valves wich is the best position for a lpg conversion.

The brake lines are different on the airsuspension axle, but i use the comlete kit of W126 coupe from the mastercylinder to the rear (all 123420 numbers)with the W126 distributor in the middle afhter the rear-axle. The tubes are W126 (350mm as W109) and a new braket on the left side. The brake cables are W109, but the originalcable were rusty so I had them made new with the W115-126 shakle-fixing system. The rear calipers are W126 but that is a straight forward change. So my full brake system is W126 with anti-dive! Perhaps, if i decide one day to have a ABS I can do it with a sensor on the rear hardy and two sensor on the front axle...

That is going to be a great set-up. The LPG system is very clever. I would like to see the face of a mechanic the days he pops up the dizzy cap to adjust the points!

Just one precision, I did not use motorbike coils in the Dizzy but two EDIS coil packs in place of the dizzy that fire in wasted spark mode. It doesn't look as original as your set-up.

I would love to get some more information on this conversion. This is what I want to do with my 1966 200. Do you know if there are motor mounts that will allow this to be bolted into a w110? Mine has the 200 gas motor, and the 4 speed transmission.

I had received some tips from GGR for putting a V8 into it, but I would rather preserve the character of the car, and put a higher output 4 cylinder in it.

Hope you can help.

An M102 from a 190E would be a good fit.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

Thanks. That is one of my first considerations as it is the most plentiful. If it can be a bolt in swap, then it is near the top. I would like to retain the 4sp or better yet a 5sp.

Anyone have any information about parts, etc? I would very much appreciate it. (I am still working on the current motor, so the car is moving, but I want a modern powerplant, and EFI is also one of the goals. I have already converted a CIS (mechanical) to EFI, and don't mind doing it again.)

Speaking of EFI, you could easily add Megasquirt to your existing engine by using throttle body FI. Someone did that and posted it here or on Peachparts.

Yep. And that wsa probably me that you are thinking of. I used a TBI from the Iron Duke motor from GM, and used a 240D intake. I designed an adapter plate to mate the two together.
