Well, the car is currently with my dad (storage) and I'm in a hot and sandy place in the middle east (it's actually raining right now though). Unfortunately, I don't have pictures. I always hate it when someone tells me something is "easy" but in the case of an install, it took me about 15 minutes without any guidance, and I'm by no means a pro. Pertronix offers a customer service number to call if you have problems too. I would imagine you could take it to a local mechanic too, and have it installed. The upgrades are a pretty common thing nowadays.

The transistor is on the driver's side, and looks like a big silver box with fins. The fins dissipate the heat. I left mine installed, just in case. I actually had a just in case - I couldn't for the life of me pin down a recurring surging issue I had, and I thought I might have a problem with the Pertronix. I went back to the points and transistor in no time flat (it didn't fix the surging issue though) to test the theory.

I've seen the transistors on eBay here or there, but for too much $$. If anything, I'd just keep yours either in the car, or in a box where you can get back to it later.

Thank you all who replied both on and off list.

The problem, discovered by the dealer's shop foreman was a broken connection in the wiring beneath fuel pump relay in the engine compartment. It's great to have my car back home in the garage!
