108/109 Rear Fenders

I recently saw an eBay auction for a 108 rear fender, in "pristine, never used" condition. I've had my 108 apart before, and in looking through the naked chassis, I never saw an easy means of removing or replacing the rear fenders.

Were the suckers welded in? Part of the unibody?

They are welded and part of the structure.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

Yes, welded as part of the body structure, but MBZ sells the replacement rear 1/4s (fenders) seperately for accident/rust repair.
