1973 450 sel Gas tank removal

my Father in law had a 73 450 sel in garage for about 20 years. His wife had parked the car because my wife and her brother didnt know how to drive at 16 and scrapped the side. So they parked it in the garage. The car was operational before putting the car into storage. After 3 years of begging he has finally given it to me SWEET. Put gas in the carb to see if it would fire up after filling the oil and radiator fluid and new battery. Surprisingly it did. From what I have been reading to bring this girl back from the dead I need to clean the gas tank out. I have a place that will clean it but I need some pics or info on how to remove it. I have already replaced the fuel pump and the filter that I obtained through bap. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Right on! Nice car! Gas tank removal is actually pretty easy. First, remove the connection to the sending unit (from the inside of the trunk). While under the car, you'll see something like 6 bolts holding brackets that in turn hold the gas tank in place. Loosen/remove all that, and the tank comes right off.
