I've tryng cross referencing this to wikipedia and it comes up as a w114? He's asking for $2,550 and it might be a fun car to have. I just don't know anything about it.

Correct forum but I don't know anything about the W114 either. Try to find a qualified "older" MB technician and have him look over the car. From the pic you posted it looks pretty good to me.

There are several posts in this part of the forum, regarding buying advice on this type of car, and the W115 (Wich is the 4 cylinder version of the W114)
There are several places to look for rust...
Tecnically they are solid cars.. Try a search...
