weather stripping questions

I started adding new door weatherstripping to my 280SE and realize that there are screw holes in the rubber. Is there a proper screw size and where can I find these? Also, I noticed in a diagram the Retaining rail which seems like it might steady the rubber along the door. My car doesn't seem to have this since the weather stripping was missing - can I proceed and add these in later? I'd like to settle these questions before I use the adhesive to seal the rubber to the door.

Also, it looks like the door checks need to be removed - is there a rundown on this somewhere?

You might give Tom Hanson a call at the Classic Center down in Irvine, CA. 1-866-622-5277. You should not to remove the door checks to do this.

You should be able to remove the door check strap's pin easily. I'm not aware of any screws nor am I aware that adhesive is needed for the front doors. Make sure you use factory parts for a proper fit and keep us posted on your progress.
