Which /8 do you have ?
Is it a 4cyl, a 6cyl, a diesel ?
Do you have automatic or manual gears ?
There are several rear differensials to choose from.. But first you have to know wich final gear you have today..

1991 W140 400 SE - SOLD !!
1973 W115 200 -For sale as project.

As far as i'm aware you can swop in the whole rear end from a W107 SL or SLC and as they came with big V8's i'm sure they'll have lower ratios available, LSD on some of em too, not sure if the diff can be swopped alone though, you'd need to check driveshafts and propshaft fitting.

You could use a W123 300TDT rear end, but a turbo-diesel diff is maybe hard to find where you live? you could allso use a W126 (80-85) or a W116 diff. Check what is available on the used parts market and post back
