MB 220 seb that sat for 30 yrs

anyone have advice on how to clean a gas tank idle for 30 yrs and now empty -preferably by a product or system they have used, that doesn't require removal of the tank

Removal of the tank is the only way to do the job right.

Remove and clean, no other way.
It is a 15-20 minute job after the gas is gone.

+1 to both previous posts. Don't forget to blow some air into the fuel lines to make sure no foreign objects are left in.

And blow the air from the engine-side.. That way the gas flows down and backwards to the lowest point..
Also, I guess ALL rubber-hoses need to be replaced emediatly..

Gas tank removal is actually pretty easy - get under the car and look for the mounting bolts. I'd suggest taking the tank to a radiator shop for steam cleaning too.
