Source for Dexron II (Dexron 2) ATF???

I am looking for a source for Dexron II ATF for my 1964 220 SEb/ Convertible here in the US.

In Europe you can get it. Mobile even got a new line out, but they do not offer it here in the US.

And NO, you cannot substitute it with Dexron III in a Classic Mercedes. Well you can but everybody who recommends that for a classic W111 shows his incompetence with these cars.

Anyhow, does anybody know a good source, Intl. shipping is quite expansive.

Thanks Suffi

I read somewhere that Redline makes a synthetic Dexron II - you might try looking for a Redline distributor near you.

Why do you use dextron for your classic Mercedes ?
I don't mean to be rude, but why not use original Mercedes-Benz quality oil ?

On newer benz's we are told NOT to use dextron oil for the servopump, as the oil eats up the inner seals of the system. The rule there is : "Use nothing but original Mercedes-Benz original hydraulic oil for the servo.."

And if you call almost any MB dealer in the USA and look at what the shop is using in bulk, it is Dexron, Dealer Techs DO NOT waste there time pouring endless quart bottles of MB oil into every car they service... IT is pumped out of bulk tanks in the back provided by the local oil vendor, Almost always Dexron. Call you dealer and ask the parts guys what they use in the shop..
