I've been looking for other options too. Not a lot of info out there as far as what mods are needed for a small block. I'm just looking for some direction here.

I'll tell ya, you need to know how tall the compartment is then you know what assy will fit without reshaping the car. Next decide what you can afford price wise andknowing that you can go shopping. You want a drivetrain combo that is a unit and the newer it is the more electronic stuff you'll need to buy to run it. The ideal is buy a wreck that was rear ended and take it all. Remove the old power plant and driveshaft assy along with hood. Hang the new unit on a chain and fit it to the car. Thats part of the mechanic stuff thats fun. The newer it is the more efficient it will also be.
Its all down hill from there.
