'71 250c engine question

Hello, I'm new to the site and curious to see if anyone can help me. My motor blew out in my '71 250c and I'm curious to see if anyone knows off hand what size engines would fit in there. I'm having a tough time it figuring out. Oh yea... it was a 280 engine that was in there that blew. All help is appreciated. Thanks alot.

Actually to be more specific... Would an engine from a '76 280c fit or an engine from a '78 280SE fit? Thanks alot.

Would it fit? Absolutely.
