Needed/necessary info for your Benz?

All,

I'm due to deploy soon, and am probably going to be off the grid for a year, if not more. I recently rediscovered a couple DVD's I bought that cover most of the early Benz models, from engine replacement, to wiring diagrams, to valve clearances, fuel systems, carbs, etc. These are the shop manuals, the owner's manuals, and the like.

I'm a huge Benz fan and would like to be able to keep the older ones on the road. If you have requests for specific issues, please let me know via PM. Please be aware that the shop manuals come in about 100 files each - they're broken down by system and subsystem, so downloading an entire manual would be problematic.

I'll also put files into the online resources section of the forum as requests are made.

Cheers,
Chris

I would love to have the digitized info on my '73 450 slc!
How many gigs are we talking?
My previous ride, '74 450 had the best owners manual,
it completely broke down the entire car& gave parts # down to the nuts &bolts!
I'll take 'em however you put 'em out there.
THANKS,ALOT

Not a problem! I'll start the process tomorrow.

I drove that damned beast from San Diego to Denver yesterday. Per my Garmin, the route I took was 1300 miles. That car got 10 mpg and gobbled down 5 quarts of oil.

Still though, the most comfortable, quiet easy drive I've done, hands down. On long trips, my BMW makes my lower back grumble all day, but not the Benz.

Here's what I've got on disk, per model nunmber:

108
109
110
112

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I have much for the 450. However, you and I have the same engine, right? Would you like stuff on that instead?

I have a W111.021, 1966 250SE Coupe, so it doesn't look like it's on your list.

I do wish you all the best and hope that you come back safely. Thank you for your service.

300sel w109

Hi, I have a '72 300sel 3.5 w109, and have a leak on the rear diff at the mo, any info on those?
I'm looking at restoring the car bit by bit (starting with the powersteering...), so I was thinking of getting a complete user manual. or how do I go about getting one of those 'discs' you mentioned?
Ah, yes, I'm out in South africa, so quickly couriering it over might be a problem
will appreciate

Hi all! I'm currently on the east coast, attending training. I'll be heading to Denver for a month after I finish, so I'll be able to get back to the info you all are asking for. Give me about three weeks or so.

Meanwhile, I've uploaded a bunch of files on the 108's on the "online resources" portion of the forum.

Good luck!!
