1972 250C new mbr considering purchase

Hello, New member here. However, have been viewing the site and researching. I've got my first prospect, a 72 250C, not to far from me and plan on going to check it out this weekend.

Ok beyond the normal used car purchase stuff, is there anything in particular to look for on the 250C?

How do the automatics hold up?

I understand the trunks can be prone to rust. Anywhere else to look?

Thanks in advance!

Floor, trunk, valances but not least .. The worst place is down the air-intake in front of the windshield.. The three plastic-flaps get clogged, and water trapped inside.. Water going into the car and/or it will start rusting down there..
Check the 4 big bushings between the front crossmember and the front structure.

Good luck with the car! I'm a big fan of that body style! Mine (a 280C) had rust in the rocker panels, the trunk and the floor boards. What's the asking price?

The 114 coupes are beautiful cars. The carbs will give you trouble though. Ask me how I know!

Make sure the blower works. Tell the owner that you want to do a cold/sat overnight start so you can see how the carbs behave.
