megasquirt conversion

My 1971 280SEL has a M130 long 6 with mechanical fuel injection. The MFI was removed and a side draft carb put on the fuel injected intake manifold. This works dependably, but Not near the power I should have. All the Mercedes conversions to Megasquirt that I have seen are on newer ones and/or V-8 engines. I'm thinking that at least I have the injection ports and the intake, I just need a throttle body for a basis of my conversion. I haven't studied this in depth yet, but was hoping someone here had maybe done this on this type engine. I need to know the difficulty and cost involved. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated.

You will need the throttle body from a 280SE or 280SL. Check with these guys.

Is the complete injection system removed? Please take a pic so we can see.

You will need some kind of adapter for the injectors, a fuel rail and pressure regulator, an electric fuel pump package, from a W124 300E or W126 300SE. That includes the bracket, fuel pump, fuel filter, accumulator, hoses, and wiring harness and the protective cover and don't forget the screws.

First you need to plan on the various sensors and their location. Do you want top use the existing point ignition system or do you want to upgrade it? Pertronix makes a point eliminator or you can use an FORD EDIS system. There are lots of options. Plan on a cost of about $1500 for the conversion.

Maybe you can find a replacement engine from someone. That would restore the car to it's previous glory.

Why do you use the Inletmanifold of the 250 CE with D-jet, and all the fuel lines, i think the easiest way to go.
