Advice for getting 1976 300d going again

Just purchased a 1976 300d for $100 with factory manual. It has been almost years since the car was last started. Body is good, interior needs lots of love. still assessing the engine. I know there is a preglow system issue, there was no primary fuel filter in the car when i got it, and the previous owner said he had electrical issues. Someone also removed the AC evaporator core at some point in time, I have a complete assembly from a 1977 300d and i am wondering if this could be used as a replacement. The last major issue is all the window regulators and motors appear to need rebuilding (probably the easiest of the work to do).

Currently the car won't start I am in the process of returning the preglow system to its orginal state. Planning on doing the basics too, oil change air filter, fuel filters etc I am looking for advice on what other maintenance I should do to get the car going again, I am looking to restore the vehicle to as near original condition as possible.

Any advice greatly appreciated

If no one responds try the W123 section, uses the same engine I think as a W123, as there is a lot of diesel guys over there they may also be able to assist.
