Injectors for M117

My 1972 350SL 4.5L has blue injectors.

Manual says these could be:
0 280 150 015 - Injection valves without protective sleeve
0 280 150 024 - Injection valves with protective sleeve
0 280 150 036 - Injection valves with protective sleeve & double sealing ring

Protective sleeve is 000 987 19 45 (Don't know if I have these or not)

Injectors for M116 engine appear to have similar specs (380cc/min 37.3 lb/min, 76HP, Tested at 300 Kpa), but they are color coded Yellow. Ending numbers are 013, 022 & 034. Sleeve is 000 987 18 45.

Finally to my question :- Is it possible to use the M116 injectors in a M117 engine? If so, which protective sleeve would I use? I would like to buy a set of injectors as spares and there is a set of yellows available.

Anyone know what the difference IS between the yellow and blue?

No, the injectors are not interchangeable. FYI, we offer reman 4.5 injectors for $49 each ($15 core).

OK Thanks - This will be a fall job. Probably will test existing ones first.

For anyone with an M116 engine, these injectors on eBay seem like a reasonable buy. See auction 250265395377. Wish they would fit my car, but it seems capacity is too low for 4.5L M117.
