Question 1971 W114 with a m130?

I am not sure what I have got here. I am new to Mercedes-benz in general and have found resources a bit lacking.

Our auto is a 1971 250/8. The numbers are 114.011 and 130.923 respectively and that in itself seems a bit of a contridiction (according to Chiltons 1971 repair manual). There is some mention of a 250s/8 in that manual but I haven't found much else about this model or anything on ours to indicate it is one.

I would really like to learn what I can about this lovley automobile so that I can care for it appropriately and appreciate all help and expertise.

More info I have learned:

Is equipped with dual carbs
Has a 4 speed automatic
No fog/driving lights
no sunroof

All questions welcome!

No contradiction. You have a 1971 250 with the proper (and likely original) engine. I wouldn't place too much faith in Chilton specs...

The numbers are correct...Chilton and Haynes manuals are good for repairs and teardowns but not much good for model-specific information...

How about some pictures??
