the 450 valve adjustment

Before i remove the cam covers, I just wanted to know if I need to have that special crowfoot to adjust the valves? I heard about them regarding diesel models, but mine's a m117, the car is a 72 280SE 4.5.

Steelies with caps and sealed beams RULE!!

You for sure need a crowfoot, at least a standard one. If the adjusters are stuck, you will need the special tool. The adjusters are soft metal and easy to round. If you have a valve spring compressor, you can remove the rocker arm and get a socket on the really tough ones. I have had some that were so hard to move that I needed a breaker bar with an 18" piece of pipe for leverage.
