You might have to do what I did on my /8..
I used a Pagoda servicemanual to find out a little on the 230.6 engine, together with some techical details here and there.. The rest was left to my imagination..

I have a service manual for Series 108 - 109 - 111 -113.
This covers 280 SL/8, 280 SE/8, 280 SEL/8
280 SL/8, 300 SEL/8, 300 SEL/8 6.3
280 SE/9 3.5 and 300 SEL/9 3.5

It is in very slightly used condition.

If you're interested let me know.

The service manual is available on this site for free. Go to "Online Resources" and page through the stuff. There's a bunch of info in the 4.5's. Let me know if you need specific stuff and I'll upload that as well.

Online bookstore has it

Hi:
I purchased my original Mercedes shop service repair manual from Books4Cars.com - Every Repair Manual, Service Manual, Owners Manual and Book for your Car, Truck and Motorcycle for $148.90 incl. shipping. It is a very useful thing to have!!

You may need to scroll through three pages worth of posts. If there's something specific you need, I may have it ...
