I have a beautiful condition 1975 w115 240d that is in need of a transmission rebuild. Its an automatic and my mechanic (just bought the car from the original owner) in Venice, CA said that the guy he normally uses just closed shop three weeks ago.
So anybody out there who can recommend a great shop to do a rebuild on the tranny. Obviously, a good price is for sure desired, but quality & trustworthy work is essential.
This place in the valley, Sun Valley Mercedes Dismantlers, remanufactures automatic transmissions for sale. They also do repairs for transmissions and are very nice. I had to drive up there one evening after work to buy a windshield and they stayed open late so that I could get it. Try them out.
