I always liked those old fintail sedans. I know where a wrecked 200d is out in the woods, so if worst comes to worst i might be able to help you out with a few small parts. Good luck with your car and let me know if you need anything.
if that car could tell stories. A "battle scarred veteran" to be sure.
I would not park parallel until I located a new front bumper, etc.; otherwise, someone who "parks by braille" will wipe out that tall grille shell and those European headlamp assemblies. That would be expensive.
I can remember back in the mid to late 1980s there was a Mercedes only bone yard in my area that was filled with fin-tail Mercedes; used parts went for a pittance on those cars "back in the day".
...and you still have the hood-star, BRAVO. Those covers over the headlights are a bear to replace also. Car looks terrific!!
Parts are available all over the internet. Just see how many sites pop up when you enter "Classic Mercedes Parts" in a search engine. The only bad part is waiting for shipping. Checker carries a lot of parts for my 72 280SE 4.5. Don't get sucked into overpriced spark plug cables, lots of times they have usable ones in stock. Mine are from a 75 International for only $28, didn't feel like waiting 7-10 business days for the $70 set that it said I needed. In the case of filters, distributer caps, etc.. try to take the old part in to autozone, napa, or wherever and just ask them to match the part up throught cross reference. I couldn't find an air filter in town, so i took my old one into the store and started opening boxes and comparing. These old benzes are really not that hard to maintain, so long as you're clever.

Reason: additions
That looks great. I just bought a 220S last year and have been slowly pecking away at it. The interior is kind of ratty, but it's an overall solid car.
For parts, I would recommend, autohaus.com in Arizona, mercedesshop.com, or millersmbz.com in Fountain Valley, CA.

That's very interesting, you have 300SE chrome trim on your car.
