How to remove the rear bench seat in my 250?

Could someone tell me the proper way to remove the rear bench seat in my 1971 250?

Yep...

The bottom cushion pulls up and out from the leading edge. When removed this reveals the tabs with screws to be removed for the backrest. Look at the bottom of the backrest cushion and you will see them; the backrest is held by clips/slots at the top and tabs/brackets at the bottom, IIRC. Once the screws are removed, push up on the backrest and is should come free.

Didn't some of these seats have two screws at the front/under edge of the lower bench as well ?

1991 W140 400 SE - SOLD !!

Not to my knowledge...

with the sedan, but I do seem to recall that the coupe may have had securing screws. My 250/8 was a 1970, one year earlier than the car in question.

got it out. I hope your little "helper" did not leave any damage to the interior.

Now you get to clean out 35+ years of the accumulated crud that has gotten in between the cushion and seat back and dropped down into that cavity...
