I got a vintage Becker Europa mono. On The back of it there is a input for a cassette deck. But does someone know how I can make a line in input so I can run my Ipod throug the classic radio?
there should be a schematic circuit diagram on the inside of the top cover on the radio; the "line in" should be easily identifiable to anyone who knows how to read it.
You may run into an impedance issue the I-pod. Having a good electronics/auto radio shop check it out might not be a bad idea. The DIN plug on the radio has, in addition to the "line-in", connections for remote power to the deck, etc.
I sent my Becker Europa to Becker North America on New Jersey -- for $100 they make it iPod compatible -- even put a little input on the face. MY problem has been no one knows how to put it in! According to my mechanic, it seems when the previous owner put in a modern unit, they ripped out the original wiring. I find that hard to believe, but I can't seem to find anyone who knows how to do this sort of thing. Can anyone help? I'm in Seattle. Please don't suggest "Benz Friendz -- these so-called experts have NEVER answered my phone calls, so who knows if they even exist!
your becker will only have one input and the earth is on the chassis, meaning that on the back in a threaded stud. you just earth the set to that.
Speakers will only have one two pin out let .
