Personally speaking, unless you can do the work yourself, get a long block and replace the engine that way. I'm taking a class and there is a lot to know about building these engines. They are not Detroit gerrymandered V8's.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

The short answer is...

"plenty"...

Be very careful who does the work. American machine shops, when boring for repair size pistons, will typically use the tolerances for domestic vehicles, and the bores will be oversize... You need to get a shop who knows the MB engine to do the work.

Also with the twin cam, M110, often a new cylinder head is required. I have not priced them lately, but I am guessing about $2K for the head alone.

The more economical solution is to look for a good used engine... there are still some out there, if you look diligently.

Good luck,

JR

I seen alot of M110 on ebay going cheap (100-500) they were all the K-jetronic type but you could just used the lower part and rebuilt your head. theres a head set on ebay for $75 don't know what over the counter price is id that's a good deal or not.
