DO NOT DO THE STROMBERG CONVERSION!!! Trade two sh*tty carbs for one sh*tty carb and buy a new intake manifold and linkage in the process???? I'm absolutely amazed anybody would suggest this. You'd probably hurt the value of your car in the process.

Buy Weber DCOE 40s or 45s instead. Very VERY easy and cheap swap with INCREASED performance. Save the old Solex carbs for the next owner and resale.

(Google 190SL Group and join that forum. Much better info than you will get here.)

Search first, ask second!

nice black 190! Mine was originally a black car as well but some idiot painted it while in the 80's, it's pretty much satin now but luckily very little rust. I'm planning a pretty thorough refreshing next summer and I'll likely be changing it back to Black, but with red leather instead of black.
