I'm having the same issue with my 1968 230. The window tracking and seals are all bad or going bad. I checked with a couple places and got a quote for around $450 PER DOOR for the window tracking ALONE! Whoa folks, I know Mercedes parts are pricey compared to some other brands, but that's a little out of line.
The trunk, windshield (front and rear) and door seals run about $75 apiece for my car.
Wonder if one could find some generic window tracking that are high enough quality for these cars?
1986 560SEL (yes it has 19" rims, yes they're chick magnets, no I'm not a gangsta), 1990 300E w/ AMG motor (found brand new engine and transmission in abandoned warehouse!) and 1968 230 (old but dignified). Worked on 1982 280SL euro spec, 1982 380SL and 2007 E320.
