W111 Steering Wheel removal

I have a 61 W111 220 SEb coupe. What is the procedure in taking off the steering wheel - center pad and then steering wheel/horn ring? Just got a NOS charcoal replacement :-) and need to swap it out. There are three round ridged plastic standoffs under the center pad - does the center pad just lift off?

Thanks,

Yes it does. You might want to get some new standoffs.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

Excellent. Thanks. Just finished changing out the steering wheel. Lifted off the center pad and used a 22MM socket to take off the center nut and lock washer. Old wheel slipped off and new one on in two minutes. I was lucky to get the NOS wheel for $250 on Ebay (what a bargain!). It even had the three new round standoff's already in place. One of the finishing touches on my show car coupe. My old wheel had only a couple of small cracks at the junction of the cross member to the outer wheel, but it irritated me that the small crackes were there.
