1966 600 Series Automatic Transmission Problem

Hello everyone. Perhaps someone can help me our here. My father in law bought a 1966 600 Series sedan 1 year ago, there where some minor problems with the car, all of them were fixed, but one of the mechanics that repaired the car, did something really bad with it, while "test-driving" it, appareantly he broke the reverse band of the transimission, now everything works fine except the reverse. We have been searching for the part to replace it, but we haven't found it, what can be done?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some pics of the car are attached to the thread

Wow! Your FIL's 600 is in very nice shape--even the wood instrument binnacle is in great shape. You may wish to ask the folks at The International M-100 Group for assistance. There are two main experts on 600s in the U.S., Karl Middlehauve in Wisconsin Mercedes Benz Grand 600 Restoration and Neil Dubey at Star Motors in Endicott, NY Star Motors - About Us.

I concur. If Mr. Middlehauve can't help, contact Stuttgart directly. The support system for the W100 cars is very good.

Thank you very much to both of you for your help. Indeed the car is in very good shape. I will take some better pictures next week and I will post them here so that you can see them. I will will be asking Karl Middlehauve first.
