Question 1979 280ce

I have a 1979 280ce U.S. The car is in great shape and feels like it runs good and I was wondering what kind of gas mileage I should be getting.

It doesn't like 87 octane at all. On 87 I get about 10MPG, on 93 I get 15MPG.
