This is so nice it almost qualifies as a classic in it's own right.
go here and look down the 'collectible cars' column'...check your lucky number while you are there... CarCity.com.hk ¨®«°
I've seen the car right up close ,and it's an exact replica of a real one 'on the outside'.The late type wheels are neccesary because of the brake discs.

u reckon they could've made the correct period wheels as well...the amg rims look shit..but great replica though..are we sure it's a replica and not a beefed up real 300sl??
The correct period wheels are way to small to fit the discs,If you read the sales blurb it's a HWA replica built in Germany with a 6.0 V12,it has all mod cons including SRS and frontal airbags.
No corvette crap under this one!
And what does HWA stand for?????
Hans Werner Alfrect.! The 'A' in AMG!
Unfortunately, I think I missed the boat on the Gullwing boat. Less than 10 years ago I passed on a couple - the prices since put me out of the game. I know there are good "recreations" - the Beck Spyder, Cobra, and the GT-40 to name a few. I think I could swallow my pride and go for a Gullwing recreation IF it was very well done, was built from the ground up w/ the space frame, and had all MB running gear.
if you spend 85k on the low end as I have seen the replica's go for having a custom set of 16 or 17 inch factory looking wheels made for another 2k or less is a drop in the bucket..I am a big fan on bigger wheels on classic's but this just looks out of place, reminds me on a fin body benz with bundts local to me just looks like crap..in the flesh may be a different story though.
