They do make replica original wheels.
Drew56cus has probably seen them at my neighbours. Styled after the OEM alloy Rudge Knock offs I understand they cost around $5000 each.
I saw a sliver replica at Park Place Autos in Belleveue Wa. a few years back priced at $100K. Dead spot on. Aluminum body, 280se drive train, orig wheels, match lugg everything. Unbelieveable. Don't know who made it
Vehicle: 1985 500SEC, 1991 190E 2.6, bought 07/08 with 50k original miles.

No corvette crap under this one!
And what does HWA stand for?????
Hans Werner Alfrect.! The 'A' in AMG!
I'm new to the forum but have been a fan of the MB for years. My first was a '60 220S with a Hydrak transmission, a four on the tree Shift-o-matic setup.
MercMad6.3 is on the money with the HWA 300SL. You can go to their website at HWA AG Straßensportwagen Automobilrennsport Motorenentwicklung DTM Team :: Startseite to get more info. I believe they built about a half dozen of them. And it may have something to do with some of the specials done for the Sultan of Brunei, but I'm really guessing on that one.
Anyway, I'm sure that as with other HWA cars (e.g., the CLK GTR and roadster), the engineering, fit and finish are top notch. The car shown available is shown in Hong Kong and would be difficult to import into the US market, but not impossible, as Bill Gates proved with his Porsche 959.
Just this week there was case before the courts in California involving Gull wing replicas.Don't have any details apart from the fact that poster on the W126 forums was supposed to be on the jury.
