1979 300SD Window Fell Down

Hey guys, I've been somewhat lurking around here for awhile, I never hoped my first post would be me needing help.

But as the subject states, the power window in my W116 300sd fell down as i was trying to roll it up, I heard a clank of metal in the door and the window was completely uninterested in rolling back up. I took the door panel off and found a metal clip which im assuming is what tells the window to stay up and stop where it is or holds something that guides up. For now ive got a cardboard tube in there propping it up.

I can provide a picture of the clip of this would help, any suggestions to get this reinstalled and my window rolling back up?

The online manual I have didn't really tell me much for this, I'm thinking about investing in a hard copy if the internet falls through. Thanks in advance

Include your pic of this clip with your post -- it couldn't hurt.

I can tell you somewhat

The way i get power windows back up is to go inside the door. I take off the door panel which should slide forward or backward when u take off all the hardware. then go inside the door and youll find a bunch of bolts. I loosen all these bolts and then let the window back up, then i tighten all these bolts when it is up as far is it will go. THen i usually disconnect the power to the window by disconnecting the switch or if u see two wires with screws just take out the screws.

Hope this helps good luck.

Well I have better pictures now anyway, fortunately I figured out the problem but I don't know if the clip just needs to be forced over that grove you can see on the bolt on the guiderail or what? Any ideas?

That clip is included in P/N 123 720 01 14. The kit goes for $7.
