water leak

Hi, I am new to this site and have a question regarding a water leak my 1970 280 se coupe has developed since the last rain. I figured out it is coming in through the right wiper pivot shaft. There is a little play in the pivot however it didn't leak before. Is there some special sealer you have to put inside the plastic cover/cap?
Thanks Nico

Pretty unlikely to be coming in the shaft, have a look under the base of the wiper arm at the panel where the pivot comes through.there is a 4mm hole that allows rain water to drain away.it's probably blocked.
A more likely scenario is the plenum under that panel has a hole rusted through and rain water is running into the car instead of out the two drains.( two pipes with rubber things on the end on the Firewall) .The drains also get blocked with leaves etc and the plenum fills with water to the extent that water flows in through the fan...:-(
