No suggestions at all. These cars really shouldn't be lowered. You could first start by replacing all the rubber mounts, front subframe mounts, rear trailing arm and diff. moujnts, replacing the ball joints, tie rod ends, seal your steering gear.

Next, replace the brake hoses and make sure the master cylinder is not leaking. The driveshaft flex discs and U-joints need inspecting and replacing. From there, find some thicker sway bars to improve your handling. New Bis=lstein shocks to take advantage of all the improvements you've made. Next, get wider wheels and tires for even better handling.

If you have a gas version, overhaul the engine or even replace it with a newer one. If you have a diesel, get a recent turbodiesel engine.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

Lower it.

I had a spring shop wind some springs for mine. I have a W108 280SE 4.5 lowered 3 inches running 18X8 wheels. It handles and rides very well.

Do you want looks ( lowering) or decent handling ( 4 matic) .If you lower your W115 you will not get both.believe me I have had lowered W114's and they are an absolute dog to drive in a normal situation.( rubbing tires, bottoming suspension banging underneath)
Terriffic handling is easily obtained by reconditioning all the suspension joints, with more modern adjustable shocks and fitting the Euro rear sway bar.It bolts in .
Want to get even better handling? source a back end from a W107 with anti dive links and bolt that in.
larger diameter wheels will connect with inner wheel house panels, and probably remove any good handling characteristics if lowering is still waht you desire..When new the German ( and other markets) had the 280E which will run to 130MPH on exactly the same suspension....and drive remarkebly well .If you could run that fast in your area, why would you want to spend the time and money converting to a 4 matic ?
In fact, if you want better handling buy a 190E .

It was my father's favorite car (my father recently died) and i want to keep it for myself.I don't have much experience with oldtimers and that's why i'm asking all these silly (to most of you) questions.I'm trying to make it better because my father didn't used since 2002 so i'm looking for suggestions to improve it.Thank you for being helpful guys!
