New point gap?

'75 280C (w114/110).. ..I have a new set of points, but I haven't picked up (or borrowed) a dwell meter. What should the points gap be start at? I've seen 0.012-0.016 for a different model, but nothing for this model.

By the way, why is it nobody appears to a condenser for this model? I haven't opened the distributor yet, is there actually one in there?

Thanks,
Dan

points

First thing pull the distributer out and on the bench,
replace points,
use a clean .014 feeler
note: it is a "feeler" gauge.
there are tricks and learning to "find" the correct feel
set it, check it, replace it, set timing, forget it.

Thanks! An hour before you posted, I guessed at 0.015 and it starts ok. Next step is timing. Bench? I did everything in place.
